This mouthpiece has the NY rim design that this line was built upon. All small-bore models are designed after the NY style cup and rim. The NY blank gives more core than standard Elkhart blanks and an ease of response and stability. The 7 is a great overall mouthpiece that is great for solo or section playing. The 7 can also be used for alto playing.
